Introduction to Tech-Packs

Curriculum:

UNDERSTANDING WHAT A TECHNICAL PACKAGE IS

IDENTIFYING WHAT ARE THE ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS OF TECH PACKS AND WHY THEY ARE NECESSARY

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TECH PACKS FOR LOCAL MANUFACTURING AND TECH PACKS FOR OVERSEAS PRODUCTION, WHERE LANGUAGE IS A FACTOR

SINGLE PAGE TECH PACKS VS MULTIPLE PAGE TECH PACKS

A BASIC DEMONSTRATION AND TUTORIAL OF TECH PACK PRODUCTION

(It is advisable that students of this class have a working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator)

At the completion of the class, students should know what tech packs are, to be able to identify good one and bad ones and to be able to at least create the basic outlines of a good, single page tech pack for single garments
Tech-Pack Development

It is assumed that students for level 2, must have completed level one, or assessed to have enough knowledge to forgo level 1 of our program

USING ADOBE TO CREATE THE LAYOUTS FOR SINGLE PAGE AND MULTIPLE PAGE TECH PACKS

COMMUNICATING SPECS AND DETAIL RENDERINGS VIA TECH PACKS

ASSIGNMENTS AND ASSESSMENTS REGARDING COMPETENCY ON TECH PACK CREATION
At the completion of the class, students must have a basic knowledge and be able to execute at least 70% of the applications covered In the class at a competent level in order to move to level 3
